The Fall Flood Run is an obvious reminder that the midwest biker season will soon be coming to a wintery end. But even China’s Closing Olymic Ceremonies don’t hold a candle to the thunderous march of the Flood Run. The day goes quick and with 90 degree weather, the stops seem too close [...]
The 43rd Annual Fall Flood Run Is Saturday September 20th 2008! Let’s get the word out and make it one of the biggest and best yet. Here’s a few of the details…
Our August trip took the Driftless Riders “around the world” – of Wisconsin, that is. From the Dells to Green Bay to Hurley, here’s a few of our highlight & lowlights.
Another wonderfully sloppy Dam Saloon bikini contest has come and gone and the Drifless Riders took in the action in our usual fashion. Here’s a few highlights…
If you’re like a Driftless Rider, you’re likely headed out of the Twin Cities metro area as soon as you start your engine. The map in this post shows some of the routes and stops that we frequent… and they’re all reachable within a hour or so.
I love the Flood Run. Here’s the quick 101: There’s two Flood Run’s. One in the spring and one in the fall. It starts at the Beach Club Bar right outside Afton, MN. From there it meanders down the river road, on the Wisconsin side between Prescott and Nelson, then on the Minnesota side from Wabasha down to Minnieska. It’s one of the largest local motorcycle rallies. Its thousands of bikers. Its kick-ass. This is our Spring 2008 review.
If you’re ever thinking about doing a quick trip up and down the Mississippi River here are some suggestions. The Driftless Riders made the trek in the summer of 2007.
This place is hard to describe, but let’s just say its probably the last “legal” floating bar on the Mississippi River. Yes, that’s right, this place is not on land, its actually a floatilla located just below Lock 5A. Be sure to leave the bar owner a donation so he continue his good fight against the Wisconsin DNR.
